Dear Parent/Carer
You will be aware that the local authority is constantly reviewing on-site provision for the children of critical workers in schools.
As part of this process, we have today published an online survey for parents/carers in order to inform the provision of additional in-school support.
Please find a link to the online survey below:
Parents/carers are advised that the survey will close at 12 noon on Friday 12 February.
It is important to note that the survey does not, in any way, provide any guarantee that your child/ren will be offered on-site provision at their school/s going forward.
While the survey will be anonymous, the data gathered from this exercise will enable the local authority to determine indicative demand for on-site provision (at an individual school and specific year group level).
We will then use this information to determine whether any change in policy regarding our critical worker eligibility criteria is required.
If the critical worker eligibility criteria is expanded, schools will issue application letters to parents/carers on Monday 22 February (ie immediately after the half-term break) with a view to providing additional on-site provision from Monday 1 March.
We are keen to ensure that the decision-making process is informed by as much information as possible. With this in mind, I would be grateful if all parents/carers could complete the survey (which should take less than 3 minutes) to gauge demand effectively before planning on-site provision over the next few weeks.
With my thanks for your continuing support.

Very excited to announce our new edition to Oldcastle Primary School.
During the closure period, we have changed the way we deliver learning and have developed home learning platforms across all year groups. We would welcome feedback from parents and carers on our provision so that we make improvements where necessary.
If you think that something works particularly well please let us know in the comments section.
Home Learning Parents Questionnaire
Thank you for completing the survey.
Please see below details of an email sent to all parents earlier this week.
Dear Parents.
Welcome to the start of a new term. I hope that you have all had an enjoyable Christmas break, despite how different and challenging it has been this year. As we look towards the new year, we can all hope for more favourable times and an opportunity for us to come together again as a community.
I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on our plans for returning to school as they stand to date.

Staff Preparation days. There will be no pupils on-site during these two days.
Wednesday 6th January to Friday 8th January
Online learning will be provided for all pupils via Seasaw (for pupils in the Foundation Phase) and Google Classroom (for pupils in Key Stage 2)
The school will be open for pupils whose parent(s) identify as a Critical Worker. In Bridgend, a critical worker is defined as someone who works for one of the following organisations:
If you require a place at school for these three days please complete the Google Form via this link Critical Care Child Application. All applications must be made by 4pm on Monday 4th January.
Monday 11th January
All pupils to return to school.
There is lots of information in the press at the moment regarding returning to school and I know you will appreciate that the information I have provided is subject to change. If there are any changes I will let you know so that you are able to adjust your plans accordingly.
We are looking forward to welcoming all our families back and continuing to work together to keep each other safe.
Thank you for the support you have given us over the last few months and I wish you and your family a happy, safe and prosperous New Year.
Kind regards
Ceri Littlewood
