Just 1 Tree fundraiser - Friday 22nd November

Our school will be taking part in the Just ONE tree non uniform day on Friday 22nd November. Just one tree is a non profit initiative designed to remove CO2 from the atmosphere through the planting of trees. Just one tree make it simple for everyone to contribute because Just £1 plants ONE plant.

 

We hope children will be able to support our Children's Voice eco initiative. Some members of our Children's Voice have put together a short video to provide you with more information.

It is National School Meals Week from 11th November to 15th November and our catering team have an exciting menu available for our children.  You can view the menu here.  Please ensure payment is added to your child's BCBC dinner account if they wish to enjoy any of the special menu's.

Thursday 10th October is World Mental Health Day. Here are 6 ways to help you feel good.

Oldcastle Primary School would like to start 'Enrichment Sessions' for our pupils and staff.  Brynteg, our local comprehensive school, have successfully been running enrichment sessions for the last year and this has provided pupils and staff the opportunity to learn new skills.  

Our aim is to provide pupils and staff time once a fortnight to have the opportunity to come off timetable and do something completely different.  We are hopeful that the range of sessions we can offer at Oldcastle will include life skills, cookery, first aid, sewing, knitting, art, emergency services, computing and many more. The sessions will probably take place from 2pm to 3pm.

 

In order for the Enrichment Programme to be a success, we are keen to involve parents, carers, grandparents, and colleagues.  Do you have a skill that may be of interest and are you able to volunteer at our school? We aim to run the sessions on an afternoon every fortnight for a whole term. Please complete the form below and let us know if you can help.
